2 Alabama Officers Wounded in Gunfight with Kidnapping Suspect

Officers responded to a call of a possible kidnapping in progress in the early morning hours on Wednesday. Upon arrival to the scene, they quickly came into contact with the suspect vehicle.

According to ABC News , the suspect started shooting, striking one officer. The officers returned fire, striking the suspect.

One officer was struck by gunfire and later airlifted to a trauma center. Talladega Police say he is expected to recover. Another officer was also injured, not by gunfire, and transported to a local hospital.

Police say the suspect and a second person in the vehicle are dead.
