Police Fleet Conference Spotlight: Electrifying Patrol Fleets

Cobb County, Georgia, Fleet Services Director Al Curtis will lead the session, sharing about his experience adding EVs to his fleet. He'll be joined by Cobb County Carshop Supervisor Scott Misico, who will share about his experience working on EVs.

Electrifying general fleet vehicles is one thing. Electrifying police vehicles is an entirely different beast. With many local and state governments under mandates to electrify, law enforcement fleet managers are left wondering about the best approach to take when transitioning their fleets to electric vehicles. At the 2023 Police Fleet Conference (PFC), learn from fellow fleet managers about this process.

In Electrifying Patrol Fleets: the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly, attendees will learn about police fleet electrification. Speakers will share about the successes and challenges fleet managers can run into during this process. The session will focus on what fleet managers must keep in mind during this transition to EVs â€” including battery best practices, upfitting EVs, and preparing technicians to work on these vehicles with new technology under the hood.

Cobb County, Georgia, Fleet Services Director Al Curtis will lead the session, sharing about his experience adding EVs to his fleet. He'll be joined by Cobb County Carshop Supervisor Scott Misico, who will share about his experience working under the hood of EVs. Then, Sgt. Dewayne Morris of the Cobb County Sheriff's Office will offer his perspective on operating an EV for law enforcement duties. Finally, Capt. Robert Montgomery of the Duluth, Georgia, Police Department will share about the process of adding EVs to his fleet.

New in 2023, PFC runs concurrent to the Government Fleet Expo & Conference (GFX), the largest annual gathering of public fleet professionals in the nation. Attendees have a chance to address issues specific to law enforcement fleets, as well as learn solutions for common issues across all public fleets. GFX is being held May 22-25 in Dallas.

Attendees can register on the GFX website.
