Report Says Criminals Attracted to Non-Profit Companies, Volunteer Work

At least 144 people with criminal records seek employment or a volunteer opportunity every day with a nonprofit organization, Georgia-based ChoicePoint reported today after a new audit of its records. Unarmed Des Moines Man Shot Dead by Police, Gun Grab Alleged

A Des Moines parole violator who was shot to death in a struggle with authorities outside a south-side apartment building was unarmed, police confirmed Wednesday.
