5.11 Tactical Light Entry Kit
5.11 Tactical introduced its Light Entry Kit of tools for patrol-officer first responders. The kit includes the C9 Multi Breacher, a 32-inch pry bar with claw head; C7 Multi Pry, a 2.75-inch pry bar; C6 Multi Sledge offering a dual head with a hammer and multi-purpose saw; Mini-Ram; and training door. John Crist, a 5.11 marketing executive, takes us up close and personal with the tools.
ATK's BlackHawk introduced its women's apparel line that includes tactical pants and shirt, a Performance Polo, off-duty wear, and sportswear. Spokeswoman Aysha Webb shows off the apparel.
Troy Gielish, a bicycle officer with the Irvine (Calif.) Police Department, showed us around Safariland's new two-wheel entry for bicycle patrol. The rugged, all-terrain bicycle arrives with purpose-built features such as a 30-speed drive-train, 29-inch wheels, and hydraulic disc brakes for greater stopping power.
Body armor suppliers Point Blank, Protective Products, PACA, and Paraclete merged in late 2011. Executives from the company spoke about what the merger means for law enforcement officers who use their body armor and tactical gear.
PoliceMag Interviews a 'Top Shot'
Eighteen shooting competitors began vying for "Top Shot" honors when Season 4 of the History Channel reality series debuted earlier this month. POLICE spoke with one of those shooters, Michelle Viscusi—an Army National Guard reserve who works with the Border Patrol and showed her prowess with a Browning Automatic Rifle (BAR) in the second episode.
