Officer Safety Training Tip: Using Push Kicks
POLICE Magazine has teamed up with The MMA Lab in Glendale, Ariz., to offer a series of training videos demonstrating defensive tactics officers may need to use. Videos feature veteran officer Ron Dorfman and instructors John Crouch and Adam Gillespey demonstrating the techniques.

POLICE Magazine has teamed up with The MMA Lab in Glendale, Ariz., to offer a series of training videos demonstrating defensive tactics officers may need to use. Videos feature veteran officer Ron Dorfman and instructors John Crouch and Adam Gillespey demonstrating the techniques.
This second video in the series explains the importance of using push kicks to disable a bad guy and keeping them away from you.
The purpose of these videos is not to replace any formalized training officers have received from their departments. These are basic "tools" officers can use if they ever find themselves in a situation where the training they have received is not applicable.
