The Michigan State Police's Precision Driving Unit has published final reports of its 2011 model year vehicle evaluation of new patrol vehicles at the agency's Web site.
The Precision Driving Unit tested 18 patrol vehicles for acceleration, braking, high-speed handling, and other tests. Four motorcycles were included in the group.
New arrivals included the Chevy Caprice PPV, Dodge Charger Pursuit and Kawasaki Concours 14P motorcycle. Ford Motor Co.'s 2012 Police Interceptors were tested; however, results were not published.
POLICE Magazine attended the event and has published coverage of the patrol vehicle and police motorcycle tests.
