Shortly after tactical clothing and gear manufacturer 5.11 Tactical introduced Covert Khakis in fall 2007, officers and operators asked for a covert shirt to go with them. In response, 5.11 worked directly with multiple teams of law enforcement professionals to develop the new Covert Casual Shirt, launched in spring 2008. The 5.11 Covert Khaki and Covert Casual Shirt join 5.11's popular covert Undergear Holster Shirt, Casual Leather Belts, and classic Denim Jeans.

Similar in weight, durability, and function to the 5.11 Tactical Pant, but with hidden innovation and a "business casual" appearance, the Covert Khaki is engineered with eight pockets. These include two diagonal front pockets—each covering interior zippered pockets for magazines or accessories—two standard rear welt pockets and two large zippered concealment thigh pockets hidden along the seams.

Double-needle stitching and a comfort waist help users bend and stretch with ease, while the heavy-duty crotch gusset prevents seam failure and promotes greater freedom of movement. For the Covert Khaki, 5.11 Tactical uses only unbreakable melamine buttons and top-of-the-line, locking-flange YKK zippers that are built to last.

The Covert Khaki is constructed of wrinkle- and fade-resistant 8.8-ounce cotton twill treated with Teflon for dirt and stain resistance. Designed for daily wear or concealed carry, the pant looks, fits, and performs well on undercover, plainclothes, and off-duty operators of all shapes and sizes. The flat-front pants, priced from $39.99, have a traditional appearance and are available in three colors: oak, birch, and walnut, in waist sizes 28–44. For best results, pair the Covert Khaki with the Covert Casual Shirt.

The newest member of 5.11's growing covert line, the 5.11 Covert Casual Shirt is long enough to conceal a holstered sidearm and features a proprietary reduced-printing weave. With a "sand-washed" finish that feels like a broken-in favorite, the 70-percent rayon/30-percent polyester shirt has an Ultraviolet Protection Factor rating of 40 (UPF40 sun protection).

Featuring genuine Prym snaps and 5.11's moisture-wicking CovertMesh lining that drapes over one's sidearm or gear for a smooth, natural exterior, the Covert Casual Shirt has patent-pending concealment pockets behind the center placket. It also has RAPIDraw instant sidearm access, Velcro-secured side vents, and a lower placket break-away for fast access to waist-level gear. On the chest are convenient button-closure pockets and pen pockets.

Priced as low as $39.99, the Covert Casual Shirt comes in sizes M–3XL in five colors: desert sand, slate blue, black, sage, and rust.
