A Savannah, GA, Police officer died in a traffic collision on his way home from work early Monday morning.

According to a Savannah Police Department press release, Northwest Precinct Officer Reginald Brannan, 23, was traveling home from work around midnight in his personal vehicle when his vehicle collided with a tractor trailer on Highway 21 in Garden City.

Brannan, who joined the department in December 2020, died as a result of his injuries. Georgia State Patrol is investigating the crash, Savannah Now reports.
