Arkansas Officer Wounded in Rescue of Abducted Girl Expected to Make Full Recovery

Officer Cody Carpenter was shot multiple times when he and his partner approached the vehicle of a man wanted in the abduction of a North Carolina teen.

Officer Cody Carpenter was shot multiple times when he and his partner approached the vehicle of a man wanted in the abduction of a North Carolina teen, TVH11 reports.

Carpenter and his partner exchanged fire with suspect William Ice in the parking lot of a local McDonalds.

Ice was chased down by the Arkansas State Police and later died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. 

The 14-year-old girl from Denton, NC, has returned to her family.
