Washington Officer Pleads Not Guilty to Vehicular Assault

An officer with the Spokane Police Department has pleaded not guilty to charges stemming from an incident in which his patrol vehicle struck another car, injuring its passengers.

An officer with the Spokane (WA) Police Department has pleaded not guilty to charges stemming from an incident in which his patrol vehicle struck another car, injuring its passengers.

According to the Seattle Times, Officer Michael Brunner was reportedly driving more than twice the speed limit when the vehicle collision occurred. The driver of the other vehicle and the passenger suffered non-life-threatening injuries including a broken rib and collarbone.

Brunner has been on administrative leave since the day after the crash.
