An officer with the Sterling Heights (MI) Police Department saved the life of a choking three-week-old baby girl late last week and the video of the incident has gone viral on social media.

According to KMOV-TV, Officer Cameron Maciejewski arrived at the home Thursday night and discovered the infant to have something blocking her airway.

Dashcam video shows Maciejewski holding the baby in his arms before performing back thrusts to clear her airway.

The baby then coughed up the obstruction. EMTs then arrived at the scene and transported the baby to a nearby hospital for evaluation.

The agency said on Facebook, "If it wasn’t for Ofc. Maciejewski’s quick, calm, lifesaving actions, the outcome of this incident could have been tragically different. Not only did the officer save the baby, but the officer did an outstanding job consoling the family."
