Michigan Officer Shot at Traffic Stop, Condition Not Released

An officer with the Monroe (MI) Police Department was shot twice at a traffic stop on Sunday evening as she attempted to conduct a traffic stop of a vehicle suspected to have been carjacked earlier in the day.

An officer with the Monroe (MI) Police Department was shot twice at a traffic stop on Sunday evening as she attempted to conduct a traffic stop of a vehicle suspected to have been carjacked earlier in the day.

According to ClickOnDetroit.com, police say two male subjects emerged from the vehicle and at least one of the assailants shot at the officer, striking her twice.

The two male suspects reportedly fled from the scene on foot but responding officers soon located them several hundred yards away and arrested them. Charges are pending are pending.

The officer was transported to a nearby hospital in Toledo, Ohio.

The officer's condition has not been released and further details about the incident have not been revealed.
