An officer with the Paterson (NJ) Police Department who had been hospitalized for more than 10 days with the coronavirus has passed away.
According to NorthJersey.com, 34-year-old Frank Scorpo was the father of two boys—ages four years and six months, respectively—and was making progress in his battle against the virus, before taking a sudden turn for the worst.
Paterson Public Safety Director Jerry Speziale said that Scorpo died Sunday morning.
"We are shattered," Speziale said of the Paterson Police Department's first casualty from the coronavirus. "Our hearts are broken. He was extremely well-liked by everyone."
