An officer with the Milford (MA) Police Department fatally shot a man Sunday night when the suspect allegedly charged at him with a metal pipe.

According to the Boston Globe, officials say the man—identified as 39-year-old Philip Castonguay III—attacked police who had responded to a domestic disturbance on Sunday evening.

In a statement, Worcester District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr.'s office said, "Castonguay was wielding a metal pipe and charged at the arriving officer."
