Officers with the Oakland (CA) Police Department leaped into action when two people pulled an 18-year-old man into the police station lobby.

According to KGO-TV, one of the individuals said, "My brother needs help. I think he's dead."

Officer Jose Vega jumped over the station's front desk counter and began to assess the man's condition.

Vega said after the incident that the body was cold and there was no pulse.

Another officer responded with two units of Narcan, which revived the subject who had reportedly overdosed on cocaine and heroin.

Officers Vega and Mattson will be recommended to receive the Medal of Valor.
