Virginia Officer Called to Remove Squirrel Trapped in Chimney

An officer with the Newport News (VA) Police Department responded to an unusual home invasion call on Tuesday as a couple reported to the non-emergency number that a squirrel was trapped in a fireplace.

An officer with the Newport News (VA) Police Department responded to an unusual home invasion call on Tuesday as a couple reported to the non-emergency number that a squirrel was trapped in a fireplace.

The agency posted images of the officer holding the squirrel on Facebook with the caption, "Officer Nash responded, caught the squirrel and set it free!"

The post concluded, "We're pretty sure this is the most grateful squirrel in all of Newport News tonight!"
