Officers with the College Place (WA) Police Department arrested a 17-year-old boy after the young man's mother alerted them to journal writings that indicated his desire to conduct an attack on his high school.

According to KRON-TV, the woman discovered written threats to herself, her boyfriend, and a school. The teen wrote about the weapons he hoped to obtain as well as improvised explosive devices he hoped to build.

The journal writings even included the chosen date for the attack—4/20/20, the anniversary of the attack on Columbine High School.

The teen has been booked into the juvenile justice center on charges of felony harassment and threats to bomb or injure property.
