2 Mississippi Deputies Shot Following Vehicle Pursuit

Two deputies with the Madison County Sheriff's Department were shot and wounded in an exchange of gunfire with a suspect following a vehicle pursuit Thursday morning.

Two deputies with the Madison County (MS) Sheriff's Department were shot and wounded in an exchange of gunfire with a suspect following a vehicle pursuit Thursday morning. The suspect was also shot.

One deputy was reportedly struck in the head and is in critical condition. The other deputy's injuries have not been disclosed.

The suspect's condition has not been disclosed.

According to WJTV, the deputies responded to the call of a domestic dispute and upon arrival at the home the suspect fled in a black Jeep.

Deputies gave chase and the man reportedly opened fire after the pursuit ended.

Both were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
