An off-duty NYPD officer was among two people killed when a Mercedes sedan exited the Henry Hudson Parkway, struck a tree, and burst into flames early Sunday morning.

An off-duty NYPD officer was among two people killed when a Mercedes sedan exited the Henry Hudson Parkway, struck a tree, and burst into flames early Sunday morning.

According to WINS radio, the victims were 24-year-old Kimberly Lajara and 32-year-old Oscar Monegro.

Officer Lajara had served with the 121st Precinct.

"Rest In Peace Police Officer Lajara. You will be missed by your entire 121 Precinct Family," the precinct said on Twitter.
