British Officer in Critical Condition Following Machete Attack

An officer with the London Metropolitan Police Service is in critical condition after an assailant attacked him with a machete.

An officer with the London Metropolitan Police Service is in critical condition after an assailant attacked him with a machete.

According to CNN, the officer was engaged in a traffic stop on Wednesday when the driver—a man reportedly in his 50s—attacked the officer with the edged weapon.

The officer suffered lacerations and stab wounds but managed to deploy his TASER in his defense and overcome his attacker.

The offender was arrested at the scene.

The officer was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
