Former NYPD chief Louis Anemone said Monday that Mayor Bill de Blasio does not sufficiently support police, leading to a climate in the Big Apple that led to recent incidents of young people dousing police officers with buckets of water.

According to Fox News, the current mayor's attitude toward police and his failure to take a leadership position in supporting the men and women of the NYPD is "a danger to the police."

"It’s disgraceful," Anemone told "Fox & Friends" in response to the videos of water-dousing attacks against police officers that went viral on social media last week.

Anemone added that under former Mayor Rudy Giuliani such attacks would not have been tolerated.
