Florida Officer Suffers Minor Injuries in Hit-and-Run Crash

An officer with the St. Petersburg Police Department suffered minor injuries when his patrol vehicle was struck by another vehicle.

According to Tampa Bay Times, the driver—identified as 25-year-old Jasmin Bentley—was behind the wheel of a Kia Spectra when the car struck the officer's squad as he was responding to a call from dispatch.

The officer was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.

Bentley eventually returned to the scene of the collision and surrendered to police.

She was arrested for leaving the scene of a crash involving an injury and for violating probation for marijuana possession.
