California Man Charged With Pointing Laser at Police Helicopter

Ronnie Ruben Kaplan Jr. became the subject of an investigation after police traced the source of the laser to a home.

A California man is facing federal charges after allegedly pointing a laser at a Riverside police helicopter.

According to the Los Angeles Times, the incident took place in 2015.

Ronnie Ruben Kaplan Jr. became the subject of an investigation after police traced the source of the laser to a home.

A federal grand jury indicted Kaplan in November 2018. Authorities searched for Kaplan for several months before capturing him.

Kaplan faces up to five years in federal prison.
