An officer with the Gilbert (AZ) Police Department was on his department mountain bike when a suspect attempting to flee police struck him, tossing him from the bike.

The officer—who has not been identified—was transported to a nearby hospital where he was treated and released, according to Fox News.

Police say they arrested 21-year-old Michael James on charges of aggravated assault to a Police Officer, failure to stop after an injury collision, and endangerment-vehicular.
