2 Minn. Cops Hurt, Suspect Dead In Shooting

Two Minneapolis police officers and a suspect were shot following a traffic stop in South Minneapolis on Friday afternoon. The officers were in stable condition but the suspect was dead, police said.

Meanwhile, a police squad car responding to the shooting scene fatally struck a motorcyclist in South Minneapolis.

The incident happened around 3:30 p.m. near Bryant Avenue South and West 27th Street, according to police scanner reports and a report from police.

Police spokeswoman Cyndi Barrington told the Associated Press that officers stopped the vehicle and the suspect fled and broke into a house. The homeowner alerted police, and a shootout ensued.
