The federal immigration agent who shot his supervisor on Thursday was discussing his job performance in a meeting when the shooting occurred.

Ezequiel Garcia, 45, who supervised a document and benefit fraud task force, allegedly shot Deputy Special Agent in Charge Kevin Kozak, 51, in the upper torso, legs and hands before being shot and killed by another immigration official.

After Garcia shot Kozak, there was a "very intense struggle" over the gun between Garcia and the third agent, an ICE spokeswoman told the Associated Press, reports the Los Angeles Times.
