A Los Angeles Superior Court judge has dismissed a lawsuit filed against the city of Los Angeles by the mother of a 19-month-old toddler who was shot and killed by a bullet from SWAT officers during an attempted hostage rescue in 2005, the Los Angeles Times reports.
Judge Rolf Treu dismissed a case that was set to go to a jury this week, saying jurors could only reach the conclusion that SWAT officers acted reasonably.
The baby's father had used his daughter as a human shield, while delerious on alcohol and cocaine during an hours-long standoff in the office of his car dealership.
