California Highway Patrol Orders 1,659 TASER X26 Electronic Control Devices

TASER International, manufacturer of advanced electronic control devices, has received an order from the California Highway Patrol (CHP) for 1,659 TASER X26 electronic control devices and related accessories.

TASER International, manufacturer of advanced electronic control devices, has received an order from the California Highway Patrol (CHP) for 1,659 TASER X26 electronic control devices and related accessories.

"We applaud the CHP for their due diligence and extensive research of electronic control device technology which led to their decision to purchase TASER X26 devices," said Tom Smith, Chairman and Founder of TASER International. "This extensive year-long pilot program included field testing of TASER devices, extensive research as well as a review of other law enforcement agencies data. We are very pleased with their decision to purchase TASER technology and we look forward to working with the CHP in the future. We are confident that TASER technology will protect lives by reducing potential suspect and officer injuries," concluded Smith.

CHP is the largest state police agency in the country with approximately 7,300 sworn officers. The CHP's core mission is to provide the highest level of safety, service, and security to the people of California.

This order is expected to ship over the third and fourth quarters of 2007.
