Life Hammer is a tool that can shatter side windows and cut seatbelts if a victim is trapped in a car. It can be used by police for self-rescue applications in case of vehicle collision or to rescue during emergencies at accident scenes. Before Life Hammer came to the US, it was endorsed by several safety organizations around the world in Austria, Germany, France, Holland and Norway. Today, Life Hammer is becoming standard equipment in Fire Departments and EMS vehicles nationwide. This year, five more police departments: Garden Grove, Santa Ana and Riverside in California; and Palos Heights and Richton Park in Illinois have made Life Hammer issue equipment in their vehicles. Additionally, the FBI, US Marshall and Sheriff departments in New York and California are testing the product.
