A new version of DesignWare’s 3D EyeWitness software includes crime scene, fire scene, and traffic accident reconstruction capabilities in both 2D and 3D modes. Four types of displays allow officers to view a crime scene in varying degrees of complexity, from a bare-bones “wireframe” view to a photo-realistic view complete with shadows and reflections. Movies and panorama shots can be made from the 3D designs and the software produces virtual photos from any angle with a 360-degree virtual reality viewer.
