Authorities were tipped to Bostic’s location by a man who drove Bostic and another suspected cop shooter, Robert Ellis, Jr., to Pennsylvania reportedly without knowing that they were wanted. Acting on the information, 40 NYPD officers joined Pennsylvania State Police, U.S. Marshals, and local officers in a massive search of the area.
Ellis was captured early this morning in the same area of the Poconos. He was unarmed.
A third suspect, Lee Woods, 29, was arrested yesterday on Long Island. He is being held without bail on charges of attempted murder of a police officer, assault on a police officer, and weapons possession.
Officers Russel Timoshenko and Herman Yan were shot early Monday morning when they stopped a suspected stolen car in the Crown Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn.
Timoshenko was shot twice in the face with a .45-caliber handgun. Assistant District Attorney Anna-Siegga Nicolazzi said Wednesday that Timoshenko “is paralyzed, has brain swelling, and cannot breathe on his own.”
Yan was shot in the left forearm and chest. His vest stopped the chest shot, and he was released from the hospital on Tuesday.
