For this year's Shooting, Hunting, and Outdoor Trade (SHOT) Show held in January, the POLICE editors and a POLICE contributor walked the aisles learning about the latest products for law enforcement. Here's our report on the nation's largest police equipment show.
Where else than an exhibition for hunting and law enforcement firearms are you going to see t-shirts asking, "Have You Hugged Your Colt Today?", exhorting you to "Buy A Gun—Annoy a Liberal,” or celebrating diversity in the form of a collage of Smith & Wessons, Glocks, and Kimbers? Hey, it gives me the warm fuzzies.
The P-09, which is available in 9mm and .40 S&W, features an ambidextrous safety and de-cocker paired with a double-action, single-action trigger. Three back straps accommodate shooters with various hand sizes.
CZ-USA introduced two new versions of its CZ P-07 Duty pistol in 9mm and .40 S&W at SHOT Show. The two new models of the mid-size auto include a version in OD (olive drab) Green and a version in black with a threaded barrel to accept a suppressor.
The .380 ACP round is much shorter than either the 9mm Luger or the .38 Special, creating the ultimate deep concealment package with six to eight rounds of ammunition. This exceeds the average five-shot, deep-concealment revolver by a few potentially life-saving rounds.
This is an off-duty or concealed carry pistol, not a uniform duty gun.
The company's pistols are so well designed that its classic CZ 52 was a mainstay of the Czech military for 23 years.
