Ariz. Deputy Dragged by Truck Dies 9 Years Later
A Maricopa County (Ariz.) Sheriff's deputy has succumbed to injuries he sustained nine years ago, when he was dragged by a truck in a parking lot. Deputy David Wargo, 39, will be given full honors when he's buried next week. He died Tuesday.

Off-duty Chicago Cop Slain In Grocery Story Robbery
Officer Clifton Lewis, 41, was shot after two men robbed M & M Quick Foods in the 1200 block of N. Austin Blvd. At about 8:30 p.m., two armed men entered the convenience store and, during the robbery, fired several shots, striking the officer.

Lauderhill Police Officer Kristopher John Bieger, 30, was taken into custody, after he fired 10 rounds at another officer, who happened to be his ex-girlfriend, and then calmly walked into a restaurant and ordered two slices of pizza.
