Coroner's Report on Christopher Dorner Released, Suicide Confirmed
Trapped and surrounded in a cabin in Big Bear, Calif., at the end of an exhaustive and violent manhunt, ex-Los Angeles Police Officer Christopher Dorner shot himself in the basement as the building burned above him, an autopsy report confirmed Friday.

Report Says Dorner Manhunt Plagued by Communications Problems
“This incident represents a sentinel event in American policing – one that serves as a warning of needed changes in the public safety system,” said Police Foundation President Jim Bueermann, who put the Foundation's review team together. “A trained former police officer was hunting police officers and their families, exploiting geo-political, jurisdictional and technological boundaries and using legally-acquired, sophisticated, high-powered weaponry.”

Video: Dashcam Captured Dorner Ambush of Riverside Officers
Dashcam footage released this week by the Police Foundation shows that Riverside, Calif., officers Michael Crain and Daniel Tachias were ambushed by Christopher Dorner before they knew the former LAPD officer had attacked two LAPD officers some 20 minutes earlier in nearby Corona.

A 13-year-old boy who allegedly stole a bronze dove from a statue memorializing a San Bernardino County sheriff's deputy killed during a massive manhunt earlier this year was caught after bragging on Instagram, authorities told the Los Angeles Times.
