Campus Safety Invites SROs, Campus Police to Participate in Columbine Anniversary Survey
To mark the 10-year anniversary of the Columbine High School shooting, Campus Safety magazine announces it is now conducting a survey on the state of K-12 school and college security. All individuals who are involved in elementary school and higher education campus safety are encouraged to participate. The survey closes Feb. 5.

Columbine School Shooting Remembered
The Jefferson County (Colo.) Sheriff’s office is still under investigation for the way it handled complaints about the two teenagers who killed 12 classmates and a teacher at Columbine High School in Littleton, Colo., before committing suicide. Many still believe that the Sheriff’s Office should have been able to predict and prevent the killings.

At Columbine, the officers, deputies, firefighters, and emergency medical personnel did an incredible job in their response to an unbelievably bad situation. But through no fault of their own, the tactics they were trained to use were not suited to the nature of the incident.
