Phoenix Police Test Extended Shifts
Starting Monday, Phoenix Police officers will begin testing extended shifts for its officers, the department has announced. Under a six-month pilot program, officers from the Cactus Park Precinct will work three days of shifts of 13 hours and 20 minutes followed by four days off.

N.Y. State Sergeants Agree To 10-Hour Shifts
Under terms of the agreement, sergeants receive additional days off. However, they will be scheduled to work more hours in a year. The new schedule is expected to help eliminate scheduling gaps, which during a testing phase saved over 43 percent in overtime costs.
