Idaho Agency Again Responds To Christmas 911
The Orofino (Idaho) PD is again organizing Christmas 911, an agency project started a year ago "with the idea of providing full Christmas dinners and gifts to families in our area who were experiencing hardship and most likely would not have much for Christmas," according to Chief Jeff Wilson.

FLEOA, Vincent D'Onofrio Support Detox Program for Meth Cops
The Utah Meth Cops Project exists to treat law enforcement officers who have been repeatedly exposed to toxins in methamphetamine labs on the job. FLEOA invited project spokesperson Vincent D'Onofrio and FLEOA members who've gone through the treatment program to speak at the association's conference and raise awareness.

Federal LEO Association Conference
The Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association (FLEOA) recently held its 2010 national conference in Henderson, Nev. FLEOA is a volunteer organization that provides legal assistance and representation for its members. Federal officers do not have union support like municipal, county, and state law enforcement officers, so FLEOA fills this need for its members and advocates for legislation important to them. In fact, FLEOA's unified voice led to the Special Agent Samuel Hicks Families of Fallen Heroes Act being signed into law on June 1, 2010 (P.L. 111-178). These photos show some of the highlights of the FLEOA conference.

Should Police Reality TV Depict Off-Duty Life?
"Cops" only depicted officers responding and handling calls, and oftentimes the banter that goes along with doing this job. With the newer shows, I was taken aback by how these officers allowed cameras into their personal lives.

TNT Renews Southland for Third Season
TNT has ordered a 10-episode third season of the TV show Southland. The gritty cop drama was resurrected by TNT after NBC canceled the show before its Season 2 premiere.

Cable network TLC returns with "Police Women of Maricopa County," following its airing in the fall of "Police Women of Broward County."
