From the witness stand Monday, Stephen Peterson recalled that on Oct. 30, 2007, Drew Peterson showed up at his son's North Aurora home with two or three guns. Peterson's fourth wife, Stacy, was reported missing the day before Drew Peterson's visit to his son's home.

The FBI deemed former special agent Carlos Ortiz "erratic and dangerous for years," an assessment that culminated Wednesday in his firing and arrest. Ortiz, 48, is accused of threatening to kill his estranged wife, who is a bureau analyst, and the head of the Dallas FBI field office.

Indianapolis Officer's Girlfriend Tossed Pistol Out of Cruiser During Dispute
Sgt. Stephen Blinn, a 24-year department veteran, struggled with his girlfriend during a physical altercation during which he fired his Glock .40-caliber service pistol in the vehicle. Blinn didn't point the weapon at his girlfriend, who grabbed it and tossed it out of the cruiser.

Headshot Ends Illinois Standoff With Armed Man
Officers shot the man after a three-hour standoff. The man's wife, 9-year-old son and a one-year-old child were able to exit the house before the standoff. Officers reported muzzle flashes inside the house and returned fire after the man fired at them from the rear of the house.
