National Foundation Donates to Family of Slain Mississippi Police Officer
National Law Enforcement and Firefighters Children's Foundation (NLEAFCF) has sent out a $5,000 emergency grant this week to the family of a police officer lost in the line of duty last Saturday night.

Michigan Community Raises $4K to Send Wounded Officer on Vacation
Murphy in the early morning of Monday, Feb. 2, responded to a home invasion complaint on the city's East Side and ended up being shot in the left thigh by 17-year-old suspect Jacob M. Haglund. Murphy returned fire, hitting Haglund in the shoulder, abdomen, and neck, wounds from which he died on Sunday, Feb. 15.

Gainesville PD Receives Safety Grant from the Spirit of Blue Foundation and Dunkin' Donuts
The Spirit of Blue Foundation announced today that it has awarded a Safety Training Grant to the Gainesville (Fla.) Police Department to obtain valuable police/youth dialogue training. The focus of this training is building understanding and cooperation between the city's minority youth and the 302 police officers who serve the Gainesville community.
