FBI: Bank Crimes Fell In 2010
In 2010, there were 5,628 reported crimes against banking institutions compared with 6,065 violations in 2009. The 2010 data included 5,546 robberies, 74 burglaries, eight larcenies, and 13 extortion offenses that were reported to law enforcement.

The NYPD logged 340 rape complaints in 2011, as compared with 274 in 2010. Brooklyn had the highest reported number (97), and Manhattan was second (86).

Traffic Fatalities Drop In Cities With Red-Light Cameras
Researchers found that in the 14 cities that had cameras from 2004 to '08, the combined per capita rate of fatal red light running crashes fell 35 percent, compared with 1992-96. The rate also fell in the 48 cities without camera programs by 14 percent.

FBI: Blacks, Jews Most Likely Hate-Crime Victims
Blacks made up around three-quarters of victims of the racially motivated hate crimes and Jews made up the same percentage of victims of anti-religious hate crimes. Anti-Muslim crimes were a distant second to crimes against Jews, making up just eight percent of the hate crimes driven by religious intolerance.

FBI Releases 2009 LEOKA Report
Law enforcement agencies identified 41 alleged assailants in connection with the 48 felonious line-of-duty deaths. Thirty-three of the assailants had prior criminal records, and 13 of the assailants were under judicial supervision at the time of the felonious incidents.
