A Milwaukee County (Wis.) Sheriff's deputy died Tuesday after his agency truck struck the rear of a flatbed tow truck. Deputy Sergio Aleman was driving a sheriff's truck that provides service to disabled motorists.

Milwaukee County (Wis.) Sheriff David Clarke took umbrage at a county supervisor's critique of his bulk handgun order, issuing a statement Tuesday calling the elected official a "puke politician," "small man," and "an idiot."

A Marathon County (Wis.) Sheriff's deputy died Sunday, after he became trapped in an engulfed theater with two other firefighters. Deputy Jamison Kampmeyer was also a volunteer for the Colby Fire Department.

Dep. William Kelly encountered a 37-year-old on a domestic disturbance call who was hellbent on making his feelings known with a .22 rifle. Dep. Kelly yelled, "Drop it." No sooner had the words come out of Kelly's mouth than a bullet exited the rifle's barrel.

Fond du Lac (Wis.) Police Officer Ryan Williams has been named the NLEOMF's December 2011 Officer of the Month. Officer Williams fought for his life and recovery after he was shot by a suspect armed with a .308 rifle.
