Police say Jose Pedro Moreno Leyva, 39, hit the motorcycle officer on October 21. According to police he was driving a pickup truck and failed to yield, turning left in front of the officer. With the impact, the officer was thrown from his motorcycle. He was hospitalized by the incident.

The Phoenix PD says the local opioid problem is about more than fentanyl. The Phoenix Police Crime Laboratory has identified a variety of compounds in illicit pills seized within the city. Some of the additional compounds include: heroin; cocaine; lidocaine, fentanyl, acetyl fentanyl, and tramadol.

Oakland PD was an early advocate of Vievu body camera technology and has been using the company's products since 2010. The department currently has 775 cameras; most of them the Vievu LE3 model. Now the department is moving to upgrade all of its officers' cameras to the latest Vievu model, the LE5.
