Chicago Officers Found Not Guilty of Charges They Covered Up Laquan McDonald Shooting
Judge Domenica Stephenson repeatedly stated the state failed to prove conspiracy or obstruction of justice, saying mistakes do not equate to lying. She noted inconsistencies in witness testimony, a lack of proof that the three officers conspired to cover up the shooting and said other evidence in the case was "nothing more than speculation."

Officer Charged with Shooting Armed Suspect Denied Request for Judicial Verdict
In a video recorded by Durocher's department-issued body camera, the officer yells, “He has a gun!” when he first sees Ward running from the home and later tells fellow officers the teen “waved” the gun at him. Police found a gun, but it was inside the bottom of Ward's right pant leg.

Federal Court Bars Baltimore Officers from Suing State's Attorney Mosby
Monday’s ruling by the federal appeals court overturned a January 2017 decision by U.S. District Judge Marvin J. Garbis, who ruled at the time that charges including malicious prosecution, defamation and invasion of privacy could move forward against Mosby and Assistant Baltimore City Sheriff Samuel Cogen, who wrote the statement of probable cause in the case.

The nation’s highest court announced Monday that it will not take up the case, upholding the rulings of lower courts that cleared Charles Kleinert of criminal wrongdoing in the July 2013 death of Larry Jackson Jr. Kleinert has said his gun accidentally fired when he was trying to arrest Jackson.

3 Chicago Officers Indicted Over Alleged Coverup of Laquan McDonald Shooting
Three Chicago police officers were indicted Tuesday on felony charges that they conspired to cover up the actions of a police officer who shot and killed 17-year-old Laquan McDonald, and that the officers lied when they said the black teenager "aggressively" swung a knife at them and tried to get up from the ground still armed after he was shot.

Jury Deadlocks in Murder Trial of Ohio Officer, Judge Declares Second Mistrial in Case
A mistrial was declared Friday in the retrial of former University of Cincinnati police officer Ray Tensing, charged with murder in the fatal shooting of unarmed motorist Sam DuBose. It is the second mistrial in the case.
