Candlelight Vigil Honored 360 Fallen Officers at the National Memorial
The names of 360 law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty—including 129 who died in 2017—were formally dedicated on Sunday evening, during the 30th Annual Candlelight Vigil, held on the National Mall and produced by the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund.

NLEOMF Reminds Public to Fly Flags At Half Staff On May 15, National Peace Officers Memorial Day
This tribute to American law enforcement officers is part of the historic crime bill that President Bill Clinton signed into law in 1994. At the request of the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund, Public Law 103-322 designates Peace Officers Memorial Day as one of only two days each year during which government agencies, businesses and residents are to fly their U.S. flags at half-staff.

Las Vegas Detective Honored for Actions During Concert Shooting
On October 1, Golgart rushed to help the wounded, piling people into the back of his truck and driving them to the hospital. While doing so, he received a call from his daughter saying she had been shot. Like any father he wanted to go to her, but he decided to continue driving toward the hospital with the wounded.

National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund Issues Statement on 7 Officers Killed in Past Week
Already this year 14 law enforcement professionals have been killed in the line of duty. Eleven of them died as a result of gunfire, more than double the number at the same time last year (5).

Gunfire Duty Deaths Down 33% in 2017
NLEOMF announced today in its 2017 Preliminary Law Enforcement Fatalities Report that a total of 128 federal, state, local, tribal and territorial officers died in the line of duty over the past year, which is the lowest annual figure since 2013 when 117 officers died. A total of of 143 law enforcement officers died in the line of duty in 2016. This year's 10% decrease reverses three consecutive years of increases in officer deaths.

NLEOMF Ceremony Honors LEOs Killed on 9/11
Monday, September 11, 2017, board members, staff, and supporters of the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund gathered at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial for a 9/11 remembrance ceremony to honor the law enforcement professionals killed that day and those who died from subsequent illnesses related to rescue and recovery work at Ground Zero.

5.11 Donating Proceeds of Defender-Flex Pants and Jeans to Charities
As an extension of the 5.11 Always Be Ready brand campaign, throughout the months of September and October, 5.11 will be donating a portion of the proceeds from the sale of its recently launched Defender-Flex Pants and Jeans to the Sheepdog Survival Fund, Navy SEAL Foundation, and National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund.
