Fallen Officers to be Honored at Candlelight Vigil in DC
The names of 286 U.S. law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty will be formally dedicated on the walls of the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington DC during the 26th Annual Candlelight Vigil on the evening of May 13.

The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund has announced the selection of Special Investigator Phillip Seguin, of the Alpena County (Mich.) Sheriff’s Office as the recipient of its Officer of the Month Award for April 2014.

NLEOMF's United By Light campaign allows people to host a Candlelight Vigil viewing event during National Police Week, when the names of 286 law enforcement officers will have been added to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial.

Law Enforcement Fatalities Dip to Lowest Level in Six Decades
According to preliminary data compiled by the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund, 111 law enforcement officers were killed in the line of duty in 2013. This is an 8% decrease from 2012.

The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund will pay tribute to Dallas Police Officer J.D. Tippit and remember the day President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in 1963 with a wreathlaying ceremony at 10:00 am on Friday, November 22, 2013, at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial.
