Shooting at Florida Video Game Contest Leaves 3 Dead
A gunman opened fire on the Madden NFL Championship Series contest in Jacksonville on Saturday, leaving two victims as well as the assailant dead. According to reports, three other people were wounded and are being treated at a nearby hospital.

South Carolina K-9 Handler Suspended for Dog's "Hot Car" Death
Officer David Hurt of the Columbia (SC) Police Department has been suspended without pay for five days for leaving his partner—a Labrador retriever mix named "Turbo"—in a patrol vehicle where the dog was exposed to extreme heat and later died.

Video: Police Arrest 156 Suspected Gang Members in "Operation Triple Beam Colorado"
The Denver Post reported that among those arrested in "Operation Triple Beam Colorado" was Lester Bell. Reportedly a member of the Gangster Disciples, Bell has been charged in a 2000 homicide in the San Diego area—he allegedly beat his victim to death with a baseball bat.

Police Arrest 156 Suspected Gang Members in "Operation Triple Beam Colorado"
Between mid-May and late-August, the U.S. Marshals Service, FBI, Colorado Bureau of Investigation, Drug Enforcement Administration, Colorado Springs police, Colorado Department of Corrections, Colorado Bureau of Investigation and U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration agents combined forces to arrest the 156 fugitives suspected of gang activity, according to a news release by Chief Deputy U.S. Marshal Mike Bunk. Colorado Dispatcher Reunited with Officer She Helped After Traffic Crash
Police said Erica Limon — a Denver 911 Communications Center dispatcher and certified EMT — was on her way home after picking up her kids from school when she saw debris flying from a crash. She stopped, told her kids to stay in the car, and ran to the scene. There, she found Lakewood Police Officer Mark O’Donnell — who had been on duty, riding his LPD motorcycle — lying on the ground, moving and breathing, but seriously injured.
