The new Tactical Dress Uniform or TDU from 5.11 Tactical Series has been designed to replace Battle Dress Uniforms, or BDUs. 5.11 Tactical Series product developers utilized input from police and corrections officers to design the new TDU. The shirt features hidden document pockets on the front chest, triple stitching, and 28 bartacks for strength. A bi-swing shoulder allows for greater mobility and the sleeves feature removable neoprene elbow pads. The pant features removable neoprene knee pads, removable twill blousing straps, and a YKK zipper instead of a button fly. The new tunnel waistband provides maximum comfort. The Backup Belt System cargo pockets are lined with loop Velcro and have spare magazine pocket slots along with hook-and-loop closures. The pants have a double seat and the rear utility pockets have hook-and-loop closures. Both shirt and pants are Dupont Teflon treated for stain and water resistance and come in a variety of colors.
