Georgia State SWAT Arrests Cop Killer

Ronald Cook, 44, allegedly shot Vogt because he didn't want to be arrested again for driving drunk, AJC.com reports.

The Georgia State Patrol's SWAT unit arrested the man thought to be responsible for shooting Chatahoochee Hills (Ga.) police officer Lt. Mike Vogt with a "high-powered" weapon as the officer approached his stopped vehicle.

Ronald Cook, 44, allegedly shot Vogt because he didn't want to be arrested again for driving drunk, AJC.com reports.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation's crime scene matched casings at the scene with an assault rifle found at Cook's home. The rifle had been modified so it could fire in fully automatic, as well as semi-automatic, mode.
