Acclaimed Cop Writer and Former LAPD Detective Joseph Wambaugh Dead at 88

Wambaugh's bestselling novels included “The New Centurions,” “The Glitter Dome,” “The Choirboys” and “Black Marble.” The best known of his nonfiction works was “The Onion Field,” about the kidnapping of two LAPD officers and its aftermath.
