San Antonio Cop's Killer Executed

The street gang member who fatally shot a San Antonio Police sergeant and his wife after he "just went crazy" was executed tonight in Texas. Frank Garcia shot Sgt. Hector Garza in the head, he later told investigators, because he knew the officer would be wearing a ballistic vest.

Minn. Cop Killer Granted Parole

The Minnesota Department of Corrections has approved parole for a prisoner convicted of murdering a police officer. Timothy Eling, 63, was notified this week that his life sentence for the 1982 killing of Oakdale police officer Richard Walton has ended after 29 years.
